I hope you all had a good weekend. Apologies for the lack in posts over the last week. I had a hectic weekend and now won’t have a day off until Sunday, eek. I’ve been feeling low after working 9 days in a row and I really wanted to try something new that I can incorporate into my baking but can also indulge in on my low carb days.
I’m constantly on social media and I’ve seen on twitter a brand called Quest Nutrition. Quest started up in 2010 by launching a new kind of protein bar that was the first to be seen on the market. A lot of protein bars still contain high amounts of sugar, which isn’t good if you’re trying to cut sugar out of your diet. Quest made it their mission to create a ‘guilt free’ protein bar that is high in protein and super low in sugar and carbohydrates. They have managed to achieve this and now lead the pack when it comes to healthy protein treats.
I ordered myself the quest ‘Not-so-Dirty Dozen’ from Protein Pick & Mix (http://www.proteinpickandmix.co.uk/), which is an amazing website full of protein goodies. They arrived the next day and I was like a kid in a sweet shop when they turned up! I love it when I get new treats, always makes me happy!
I bought the following flavours –
Chocolate Brownie, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Cookies & Cream, Double Chocolate Chunk, Cinnamon Roll, Coconut Cashew, Peanut Butter Supreme, Peanut Butter Cups, White Chocolate Raspberry, Banana Nut Muffin & Vanilla Almond Crunch.
Now they don’t sound healthy, but trust me when I say they are! They manufacture all the inclusions they put into their bars. The chocolate crumbles in Cookies & Cream and the white chocolate chunks in the White Chocolate Raspberry, they make them from scratch. Every bar contains 20g of protein (or more), less than 5g carbohydrates and are all super high in fibre. The carbohydrates come from the nuts and freeze dried fruit so they are natural sugars, not processed. These treats are perfect for my carb cycling diet and I absolutely love them.
I’ll be back soon!
